Outfits 2 years ago How To Slow Down Time
It feels like yesterday that I was strolling through downtown Los Angeles in the month of March wearing my new rag & bone jeans. Where has the time gone? I’ve literally blinked my eyes and next week is already September. It’s also the time of year that my favorite brands, like , are starting to push their fall collections and begin gearing up everyone for a new school year with their latest denim styles. If you’ve been following my blog for quite some time, you know that are a staple in my closet. I’ve always been a fan of their fit and when in doubt they are always the pair I grab for. These jeans are part of the new heritage program which features 5 fits in 4 washes. This season I chose to feature a classic pair of because it’s something that everyone needs in their closet for fall. Still shocked that it’s fall? Me too!
Here are 4 ways you can slow down the clock to enjoy our final weekend of summer:
Sit in a comfortable chair, upright, using good posture, and take a deep breath. Hold it, then exhale it slowly. Do this at least ten times while your eyes are closed.
2. Take Some Time Back
One of my new favorite things to do is write letters. I’ve always been a fan of thank you letters, but lately I’m writing longer form letters that include more detail. It’s giving me a little time in the day to sit with myself and enjoy a moment of gratitude.
3. Go Into Nature
This weekend I’m heading to the Sequoia National Park to disconnect and recharge. There’s something about the sea, the mountains and nature that brings you back to the grass roots of why we are all on this planet.
4. Don’t Do More, Notice More
The essence of mindfulness — a practice with roots in ancient Buddhist philosophy that’s becoming increasingly popular in the Western world — is cultivating a focused attention on the here and now, which science has shown can help our brains to store more information and thereby alter our perceptions of how fast time is passing. Try and notice smaller things that happen throughout your day, like a bird flying out the window or the way the trees are blowing in the wind.
I absolutely love the way these jeans fit when I'm wearing them out and about, not only are they very comfortable but I think they are slimming too!
